About Sarah May
Sarah May is the highly acclaimed author of 7 novels, including The Nudist Colony (shortlisted for the Guardian First Book Award and winner of the Amazon Bursary), Spanish City (shortlisted for the RSL Encore Award), The Internationals (longlisted for the Women’s Prize) and the best-selling Rise and Fall of the Queen of Suburbia. Her latest novel, Becky, published by Picador, is out now.
A tutor on Faber Academy’s flagship six month Writing a Novel course, Sarah has launched many brilliant new voices in fiction and is excited to announce that she has designed the new Writing a Novel online course, launching March 2023. She also teaches UEA/Guardian Masterclasses and offers one-to-one mentoring through Jill Dawson’s Gold Dust programme. On the residential front, Sarah runs an annual writing retreat in Andalucía at Casa Ana.
Sarah lives in Sussex and when she isn’t writing and teaching, works with her partner taking new versions of Shakespeare to young people and places the Bard hasn’t been before.
